To celebrate this 46th Earth Day, we’d like to introduce our new recycling program.
Contact lens solution bottles and cardboard boxes are recyclable in your town’s municipal weekly pickup recycling bin. We discovered, however, that individual contact lens blister packs are too small for most large scale public recycling programs. Because we know millions of used blister packs go into the garbage each day, we looked for an alternative.
The solution turned out to be Bausch + Lomb’s One by One Recycling Program. B+L has provided us with collection containers to send used contact lens blister packs and even the lenses themselves to TerraCycle. TerraCycle is an innovative recycling company of hard-to-recycle waste. Any contact lens manufacturer’s blister packs and lenses are accepted.
So, how can you get your used blister packs and contacts to TerraCycle? Just save them and drop them off at our office whenever convenient. We’ll take care of getting them to TerraCycle for you! Or see the last photo for instructions to send them in yourself.
